It wouldn't surprise me if they changed their votes to screw over NIU. Its not like they are Boise State, TCU, BYU, or Utah. NIU isn't a sexy pick unlike the ones just listed.

There's really nothing that can be done the two team limit is keeping 4 well deserving SEC teams out of a BCS bowl.

The dangers of declining a bowl bid: Louisiana Tech said no to the Independence Bowl (because UL-Monroe was already there), isn't invited to any other bowls. 9-3 with the top-ranked offense in the country, not going bowling.

It's just pitiful that the better bowls are forced to take undeserving teams. I could understand forcing them to take deserving teams with undeserving fanbases.

I'm just thankful we got a great matchup and a good bowl/destination.

Doesn't look like it will be changing any time soon.

Figure it this way with the new playoff format.
Playoff would be:
Nd, Florida, Bama, Oregon

then the "BCS" Bowls with the new rules in Place
Orange: FSU vs Us, A&m LSU or Georgia
Sugar: K State vs Us,A&m,LSU or Georgia
Rose: Stanford vs Wisconsin
Fiesta/Cotton: NIU vs some other at large team

The two team limit in the BCS is just plain stupid, you have teams that aren't even in the top 10, some barely in the top 25, and some unranked while the SEC should realistically have 6 teams in BCS, teams like aTm, Georgia, LSU, and South Carolina are left in the cold while teams like NIU, Wisconsin, FSU, Oklahoma, and Louisville are in. The BCS bowls should only be for teams in the Top 10 of the BCS, reward finishing in the Top 10.

Not really. You can lose all OOC games and still make it if you win your crappy conference. BCS bids should be on merit, not conference. It's basically affirmative action and hurts the more qualified teams.

Conference Automatics should be for big, 64 team playoffs like bball
