I hope that he does not work out for our sakes, but this is a great hire when you consider how well they play smash mouth football and the fact that he will be able to get great assistant coaches.

When they came from the Big 10 it was actually still a good conference though. Bielema is a good coach in an extremely weak conference...but who knows how that will translate to the SEC, even moreso the SECW

...I agree...But I would think the first thing you will see is Arkys defense will improve.....He will need to hire well in the OC position and ALL his position coaching areas.....Recruting will take a hit this year for them but should level off the next cycle...

Idk...wait and see for me. I mean I think he is a good coach. He walked into a perfect situation at Wisc..all the personel and coaches were practically in place. The former head coach stayed on as AD. All the "big" schools in that conference were either in turmoil or just not that good(osu, mich, psu) which opened the way for msu and wisc to do what they did the last several years. He is walking into a program that is in anything but stable condition, a roster full of Petrino style offensive players, and no regional recruiting ties to my knowledge. It seems like that could be at least 2-3 years of work to be competing with lsu, bama, a&m, and maybe even miss st and ole miss sooner than later. Guess we'll find out.

Yea i'm not sure Malzahn is ready to be a HC in the SEC either..

I think this is a good hire for Arkansas. Miles and Saban have proven that you don't need to throw the ball all over the field to win. Defense is key in the SEC and the lines are vital. If Bielema uses his Big 10 pipelines to get some lineman at Arkansas, they could make some noise. They may not be pass happy any more but you don't need that to win in the SEC.

Although he's inheriting a good team at ARK and is better than the moron they just fired.
