Where has he been? The guy hasn't made a catch since the LSU game. I've barely since him on the field. At one point, he was really stepping up, but then just went cold. Any ideas?

I believe at this point that he has been passed by Nick Jones on the depth chart at his position. I know we definitely threw the ball to him in the UT game because Shaw hit him perfectly in stride and he let the ball hit him in the face... probably one of the reasons that his PT seems to have been reduced.

I'm surprised he didn't get a grab against Clemson, seemed like our whole team was catching passes that game. Justice had a few drops in that one too, which was a first for him.

Idk why he can't get it together really. He had some games where he had some nice catches this. Maybe none bigger than the catch against UGA, but just no consistency. Towards the end of the year like u said we barely saw him. Hopefully another Spring practice and offseason of working out and working with DT and Shaw will help.

First of all, no it doesn't.

Second of all, what is a "byrd-hater"? I assume that you mean those people who want Byrd to develop more consistency with his pass-catching so that he can take the next step to being a big time WR. I guess Spurrier must be a "byrd-hater" too... I mean, there's obviously no other explanation for why he supplanted him by Nick Jones on the depth chart, except for utter "hate".

Jones and Byrd don't play the same position.

Damiere's playing time has taken a hit because Bruce has shifted to X which has put Sanders at Z ahead of Damiere. Whereas earlier in the year Bruce and Damiere were splitting reps at Z. Also those two (Ace and Bruce) have been lights out the last half of the season so there aren't many reps for Damiere, Shaq, etc.

Good point! I forgot to say that in my post even though I was thinking it. Haha

And yea no one is a "Byrd hater", we all want him to be successful. Pointing out that he faded out towards the end of the year does not mean you are hating on someone.

HBC mentioned his drop in the LSU post game presser. Not sure if that was the last straw???

Position on the depth chart AND playing time is dictated by on the field performance, plain and simple. If Byrd (or anybody else) was stepping it up and making plays as good or better than Sanders and Ellington then you would be seeing them on the field. The fact that you don't see them out there should tell you they aren't the best (most productive) players we have....at least right now.

Exactly! People make too big of a deal ab the depth chart. If a WR goes in and makes a few nice catches he is gonna continue to play, like Jones in the clemson game. And how Spurrier will go with the hot hand at RB.

Also like how we rotate DLmen, Sutton, Fordham, and Surratt are all #2's but they get plenty of snaps. Same for Jeffery and Smith at LB.
