I don't know, Clemson lost money last year for their BCS trip. Granted FSU has a better following than Clemson but it was Clemson's 1st BCS bowl and their opponent, while not great by any means, was definitely a bigger name and more exciting than Northern Illinois.

They have to split the 17 mil among the 12 teams.
Then factor in all the tickets they will have to buy, and traveling there.
They may just end up even.

FSU's athletic program is having bad financial problems.

The link says that the anticipated hit for the Orange Bowl in around 500k. I didn't see anything about the ACCCG. Did I miss something?

The FSU athletic department is subsidizing 50% of every ticket sold to boosters and alumni just to try to fill their allotment for the Orange Bowl, and I don't think they are doing it even with that gimmick.

No expenses come bowl season and they collect money from the BCS
