Navy is going to beat that ass. Interesting fact though over the past 10 years this if the first year that the Navy team has not been made up of majority Marine officer candidates. In its entire history the Navy team has normally been made up of 60% or more Marine midshipmen.

The football Marine thing is a myth that gets passed around. Only a small percentage of Academy grads go Marines. Most football players end up going Surface Warfare, Aviation, or Supply.

That could be said for the entire Brigade of Midshipmen. Service Selection is not until Senior year and there are more billets in those specialities so they will usually be the majority.

Showtime did a excellent documentary on the game called "A Game Of Honor" that broke it down really well. They had the Commandant of the Marine Corps and the Chief of Naval Operations in it taking a few friendly jabs at each other. Showtime went back and looked at the record and showed that traditionally among graduating seniors on the Naval Academy football team that there were more Midshipmen that went on the be Marines than Sailors on most of the teams. They then talked about the last ten years and showed graphics about it. The Chief of Naval Operations did take a big jab at the Commandant by saying that of all of the Heisman and Maxwell award winners that have been Midshipmen none of them went on to become Marines.
Edit: I just went back and looked that part of the documentary and I was mistaken it was for starting players not total players.
