CFA = College Free Agents

It basically means undrafted players.

Not sure how accurate that is. Miami has had 16 1st round draft picks in the last decade (none since 08) but 12 1st round draft picks in the past 9 years. Unless they are counting 03-07 drafts they can't have 15.

It only counts players currently active. There are plenty of first rounders from that time span that are no longer in the league.

yea dont remember him either, 9th year veteran. so he played for us 99-03? sounds about right. Holtz era.

after doing some research, found he was a JUCO who played for the Gamecocks for 2 seasons and didnt get much PT til the last half of his final season.

When you just look at the stats its kind of mis-leading. Teams like Bama and uga get a lot of NFL potential kids out of HS. Here at USC we have to get good ikds and develop them into NFL talent ala Melvin and Devin and Swag. Its only been in recent years that we've been able to get a Lattimore, Alshon, Gilmore and Clowney. And you have to wonder if we would have been able to get them if they had not been already in the state.
Evidently our coaches have done a great job of coaching up players. But that doesn't help us recruit the nationally ranked players out of state. Until we can do that we aren't going to consistently be a top team. The state of SC is just too small and the talent pool is not that great. We could see the drop off last year and this year. Hopefully next year will be better.

We're getting there though. Coaching is great at SC
