5 of the top 8 are SEC teams (3 SEC East teams).

Also, Florida is all the way down at #24.

Florida lost a lot last year.

We're not a pretty team on paper ... haven't been the last few years. Plus this season we'll be without Coach Tanner. No reason for us to be higher than 7th right now.

Well, we get the "#1" Hogs in Columbia for a series in March. Big test for us with the pitching staff they have returning !!!

We lost 2 of the best pitchers in the country, I'm a little surprised they ranked us top ten especially since Tanner is no longer the coach.

Not surprising as everyone knows that it's not that big of a change going from Ray to Chad. Maybe a bit looser/more agression on the basepaths coaching philosophy, but the overall philosophy is very similar.

we have beat Arkansas up pretty good lately. we swept them a few years ago and of course beat them in the series this past year i believe and took 2 of 3 from them in Omaha.

No, Chad is not that big of a change, as I said. There is a reason Ray handpicked Chad to be his sucessor all those years ago (and I mean long before we finally hired him).

I am just laughing because they have UNC ranked at #2. Every year it is the same story with these polls and their man love for UNC. This is part of the reason these clowns get to host a regional and super regional every year. These polls create this perception about UNC and then when they rack up a padded W/L record due to weak competition in and out of the conference they are awarded a national seed.

Geez...just getting out of the SEC will be a challenge.
I was actually surprised we were ranked so high.
Lost our best starting pitcher, the best closer in the country.
Our best power hitter in Walker, best outfielder in Marzilli, a great athlete in Matthews.

And a new head coach (sort of) I would've thought they would've had us ranked lower.
I guess they are finally starting to learn not to doubt this program anymore.

I do wonder why UNC gets ranked so high in baseball.
They haven't really done anything since Holbrook left.
