Someone in a news story said it looks like Shamu the whale, which I think is pretty accurate.

Besides, you wouldn't be able to do this with this new logo....

If it ain't broke don't fix, they didn't learn from the Panthers did they. It is an iconic logo I don't know whats worse that botched abortion or the Miami Marlins logo.
