Would Baylor be a good addition to the sec?

Good Academics, good basketball, but their football program wasn't anything until a few years ago. I could see them being the Vandy of the SEC West.. I'd rather have them than Texas Tech or TCU.

First class college. I'm not sure if it's a good fit though....it's a religious school .....culture is different, probably more like Wake.

No because the conference already has A&M.

The only team they'd take from they same state is UT.

Art Briles is a Texas guy. That said, I have no idea why he wasn't at the top of many coaching search lists. He's in a great spot and may not have left but I've never been anything short of impressed with him.

I saw his HS team and they were unreal. Then, when we played Houston, I remember Spurrier saying Briles was one of the classiest coaches he'd ever been around.

Is the SEC looking to expand? Briles is a great coach, any team should be happy to have him. But its Baylor, if they maintain 8 wins season after season thats a helluva accomplishment

Baylor is up and coming. We were where they are now not that long ago.

As has been mentioned- Baylor doesnt bring anything new in terms of markets.

For anyone who argues adamantly about Clemson not bringing anything to the table, then you have to say the same about Baylor.

I would like to see them join because Texas A&M will get a lot of top 5 recruiting classes if they are the only SEC team in Texas.

They are good in pretty much every sport. I don't know if they would want to to join the SEC since they seem to have a good thing going.

One Texas team is enough, don't even like the one we have now, we managed to bring in the 2nd worst obnoxious team in Texas, and we sure as hell don't need the leader of Texas obnoxiousness. If we were to expand I would take K-State, Oklahoma or OSU, then of course NCSU and VT.

Definitely no. Baylor only has 209,000 fans. The lowest SEC team in terms of fanbase is Vandy who has 379,000 fans. Baylor has less fans than every Big East team. http://thequad.blogs.nytimes.com/201...ignment-chaos/

You'd be better off adding East Carolina than Baylor. East Carolina has more fans and adds more TV sets. A nice stadium is cool and all, but the SEC already has several nice stadiums.
