I am interested to hear your takes on any aspect of the article. BTW, I still think you are the superior team and will win handily, but have revised my score downward for both teams. SC 28, M 10 is my new prediction. Your D-line is so good, and we've been so bad on our O-line, I don't think we'll score much.

I don't get the Big 10 Brains things either. Do Big 10 programs not give exceptions to athletes? Is it just a joke pretending it's a legit excuse for the lack of speed in the Big 10? I think most SEC haters confuse the SEC speed thing anyway. It's about the speed and athleticism of SEC dlines. You just don't see it in other conferences from top to bottom like you do in the SEC. I don't think that's as much of a problem for the Big 10 programs like Michigan though.


The breakdown was in depth and, for the most part, accurate. There were a few things I disagree with and the the biggest thing was Florida moving the ball enough for a blowout. They forced enough turnovers for a blowout but they had 183 yards of offense. If you want to move it on us you need a power run game or great pass protection(mixed with the refs allowing some holding) neither of which Florida does.

Michigan is #1 in sacks allowed in the Big 10 so that's a concern. But they didn't play the Big 10 leader in sacks(PSU) and they gave up 4 sacks to OSU who is 2nd in sacks in the Big 10. No one else in the Big 10 really does a good job of getting to the QB. There are 7 SEC teams with more sacks than any of the Big 10 teams behind OSU and PSU. That kind of ties into the point of SEC speed being more about the dline, not skill position or overall team speed.

Second....this blogger does pretty good breakdowns...if he got rid of the fluff and comedy..or just not so much...he is pretty good at it. I like his technical...but not too technical...but not too little as to be an idiot like the guys at ESPN views.

Now, about the JUCOS. I was wondering this the other day, so I ask my fellow Gamecocks. Do we use a lot less JUCOS then we did in the past? I seem to think so. I know we are hitting it heavy now because of the LB situation, but not near as much as Holtz and Scott. What do you guys think?

I can think of 2 JUCOs that play(Jerideau DT and Gilchrist FB) and one that doesn't(Broome OL). I can't think of any others but maybe there are some. I think it's just one of those excuses that opponents make when they feel inferior on the field. I don't get it, seems like a good matchup to me that Michigan can win. Do people outside of the region just hate the SEC that much they have to make these kinds of excuses all the time?
