Clowney Living Up to the Hype

So I did some searching and didnt see this article posted yet. Its by Chris Low but the headline is on the NCAAF section of ESPN right now.

Not long after Jadeveon Clowney arrived on South Carolina's campus last year as the most-coveted recruit in school history, his defensive line coach, Brad Lawing, posed a question that resonated like never before this season. .

"I told him, 'You're going to be a first-round guy, but do you want to be the first guy?'" Lawing recounted...

"There was a lot of hype when I got to South Carolina, and there's still a lot of hype," Clowney said. "But it's not about the hype. It's about what you do on the field.

"I've tried to stay humble, and I'm not going to let the hype get to me. But I feel like when I'm playing my game and am 100 percent that nobody can stop me. That's just the way I am."

God I love this kid! These are the type of players we need to keep recruiting.....I realize we may not see something talent wise like this again in a recruit for some time but the work ethic and just overall demeanor of him is outstanding.

We all know that he'll be drafted after his junior year, but how great would it be to see him come back for his senior year after a tremendous junior season....Hmm one can wish.

For me it would depend on how good of a Junior year he has......If he cleans house in his Junior year ends up in New York for the Heisman and either wins it or gets beat b/c there is a better play (not b/c he got screwed out of it b/c he plays defense) then I don't want to see him come back his Senior year.......The reason why is b/c I don't wanna see him come back and get hurt or just have a so so year (not that I think he would) but go out on top and take that hype to the NFL.
