ESPN Top 5 for 2013

Robert Smith has Bama, Oh St, Oregon (I think), CLEMSON, and Tex AM as his top 5 going in to 2013!!!
What is with this guy? He had Clemson in his top 5 last year after getting blown out by WV!!! Also had Texas and So Cal in his top 5 with LSU leading everyone! hahahahaha
We weren't even mentioned in the discussion...does ESPN really hate us?

When will people finally wake up about Clemson? How many times do we have to hear the hype, only to see their utter collapse during key games? The only reason Robert mentioned them in his top 5 is because they have a legit chance to get to a BCS game because of the WEAK @SS ACC.

Robert Smith is actually a high character family man and good analyst. Don't get bent out of shape over what media says. Look at who Clemson plays, they should be top 5 every year with that schedule.

Very true. Even though Lattimore played a limited role up to his injury (compared to his 1st year and a half) it's still viewed as a huge loss. Add a 4 yr starting center, the entire LB crew, and Safety we lose a lot of key players especially on defense which has been the backbone of our success. I seriously doubt we crack the pre-season top 10 in any pole.

What I don't get is why there is 2 SEC championship games each year? Why not just have the one?

Pre-Season this year, there were a lot (A LOT) of ESPN analyists who
were saying THIS would be the year the SEC would not put a team in
the National Title Game, and most of them were predicting either
So Cal or FSU to be the National Title Winner in 2012/2013. They also
were thinking Oregon would make a push for the title. ... Oregon was
close but the pre-season talk very rarely ends up making Analyists look
like Gurus.

We are losing 10 starters...with our best player on D coming back and our best kick returner and 2 capable QBs returning and a host of proven RBs and our best WRs will be back. Clemson may be losing their QB and RB and as bad as their D was this year...they will probe worse next year bc most of them are leaving including all of their already horrible secondary but one

On defense, they lose three of their four starting DBs (Brewer, Hall and Meeks), plus Jonathan Willard and Malliciah Goodman in their front seven.

Worst case for them if Boyd and Hopkins leave, they lose half of their starters between the two sides of the ball and could potentially lose about 80 percent of their offensive production between Boyd, Ellington and Hopkins. Exactly ... now, I think we have some guys that can step in and fill those roles, but depth on defense is going to be the key. We were thin this year as it was ... we need to get some quality guys in the 2 and even 3 deep at those spots.

I didn't post anything about Clemson ...? I just said that I'm not shocked we're not in there.

Clemson sucks and won't sniff the actual top 5 unless they play in the ACC ... wait ... hhmmm ... they still suck and will get stompped for the 5th straight time, so no biggie.
