I still feel like You Were Always On My Mind by Willie Nelson is the
greatest Country music Song EVER... One of the best songs ever written Period, but he was voted out of this tourney, so if I had chose a #2 as the Best Country Music Song of all time, it would be Crazy by Patsy Cline. The Girl could SING ! .. and IMO, this was her best. I voted for Crazy

For me, particularly in this round, it was hard to vote against Crazy.

Thing about Patsy, aside from the great voice, she had the innate sense in how to present the song, the timing and pace of the lyrics and the emotion as if the story of the song she was singing really happened to her.
Each time I hear her sing, I think, "That is one of the best songs (versions, performances) I have ever heard", then I hear another song by her and think the same thing all over, again. She elevated the level of the song via her talent. With rare exceptions, only three singers I know of in our short recorded American history of song were able to do that...Patsy Cline, Judy Garland, and Ella Fitzgerald. Sinatra could, in his prime, then slowly became a parody of himself as he aged, trying to portray "cool" as much as the songs he sang.

I agree. If I have to pick just one, Ella is my favorite.
