Before you trash this guy too much, please remember that his dad, Vince, was saying in the 70's that we belonged in the SEC and when time for expansion came, he was one of our primary advocates.

Showing his son a little slack and a little respect isn't out of the question here. As someone else has mentioned, he inherited quite a mess from lameyboi and was showing a lot of improvement by last season's end. Personally, I am glad that UcheaT didn't keep him around...I thought he'd finally have them playing well next season.

Dooley is a class guy. Good for him. He was left a mess at UT and struggled to do anything about it defensively. He just wasn't ready for a big time SEC HC job but he should do well as a pos coach in the NFL.

Dooley left UT in better shape than when he was hired. He was left an absolute mess. Dooley's not a bad coach, he was just way in over his head at UT.Too many fires to put out with unrealistic expectations from the fanbase.

Yeah offensively Tennessee was great with the focus being around great Wide
Receivers. He's probably a great WR coach. If Tennessee had a lick of defense this year they would have been a ranked team.

Good luck Dooley! He's classy and a genuinely nice person. I bet he finds success as a position coach, and who knows... Maybe he'll find a good fit as a cfb coach later on down the road and he'll show what he can really do
