Just read up on how we are doing this winter so far in the weightroom. Lots of positive things from some names you might not have expected.
Shamier Jeffery has made a push to show the coaches his desire to play. CC on Rivals said that he has definately changed his work ethic (thus far) and has been working hard. Other names that were mentioned were Cody Waldrop, Shaq Roland, Corey Robinson, Brandon Shell, AJ Cann (no suprise) and Jimmy Legree. Im proud of these guys and just wanted to share their hard work with my fellow Cockytalkers. You get out what you put in!!!!!!!! Side note: There are some teams interested in Alderick Fordham and some say they wouldnt be suprised if he was picked up late in the draft in April.

That makes me happy.
I hope a few guys on the OL step up to leadership roles this year. We need them pushing one another.

But it shows work ethic, and it doesnt matter how fundamentally sound a player is, if he's weak, he's gonna get dominated.

IMO it is a key component. Talent and work ethic are paramount, yes, but strength and balance are also significant.
If they weren't, college and pro teams wouldn't invest many millions in fitness. |

He's trying to rep players and their dedication to becoming better. If weights don't demonstrate work ethic or make the players better, than why have them? Strong > weak, or is that not needed for success as a football player these days?
You are being contrary for a reason I'm sure, but if you aren't going to share it with us then stay out of the conversation please.

Lets just ignore Tailfeathers like we do Skeeter. He obviously has never played football or really know anything about it. Who the hell would think that a kid that didnt lift weights would perform better physically than a kid that busted his ass in the weightroom?
A kid that comes in to play linebacker at 6'1 190 busts his ass in the weightroom and is 225 in 2-3 years with quicker burst that allow him to break blocks and better his work ethic and dedication to the sport.....I want that kid over your kid that never lifted a weight or put in the work Another thing is that Waldrop is a freshman still and came in with a 4 year starter at center....of course he hasnt done anything yet

I'm glad to hear stories of guys working hard in the offseason. Some, though, disappoint me that they take a few years to wake up and then start working hard. Why not just run those types off and let them go somewhere else? Give that scholly to someone willing to come in and work hard for it.

Im just glad that the light has started to turn on for Shamier as far as his work ethic goes rather than him not ever amounting to anything. What im saying is at least he's trying harder.
