TMV Broke Up

Since I noticed there was an announcement of a new album, and music is a recurring fave to talk about, I thought I'd balance it out with some bad news that The Mars Volta broke up. About a week ago. Just found out.

Anyone want to commisserate?

Didn't know they broke up but honestly I can only thing of one song that stood out to me by them, "Cicatriz ESP".

Well crap.

However, it's not like their output was all that heavy. I didn't even know they were working on anything new, and the At the Drive In reunion seemed to indicate TMV's days were numbered.

I'm sure they'll work on something again in the future.

One of the best live bands I've ever seen, really, really intense band, the like we just don't see much any more.

Spurt, I've got to find some of their live stuff, but check this out and let me know what you think:

They had a helluva drummer. Haven't listened in awhile. Good stuff.
