Alabama Opens New $9 Million Weight Room

Alabama’s new weight room becomes yet another recruiting tool



Last summer, Alabama announced plans for a new strength and conditioning facility and according to a photo posted by Alabama linebacker Matt Tinney, the construction seems to be going smashingly.

The two-story facility is 34,000 square feet and cost $9 million. It’s not just for football, it’s for all of Alabama’s sports.

"When people come to Alabama, they expect to see the best," Saban said in June. "We should always strive to have the best. As long as we have the resources and we can provide the best for our student-athletes, that's what we should do in all sports."

The facility was completed in January and has probably been a fantastic recruiting tool as the Crimson Tide attempts to lock down another top recruiting class.Well, the weight room and all those glass footballs.

Thats nice. But remember its for all sports. Our school has several around and a separate for football, separate for baseball(really nice), and a separate for basketball. if they combined all of the sports and made one big one we could have a 2 or 3 story gym as well

just to play devils advocate- think about it this way- would you want your women's volleyball team working out next to your football players and the ladies track next to them. its harder to focus. just food for thought

While we have diverse facilities, still, taking a recruit there is going to have an impact. Of course, saying 'We're Alabama, and we want you' is probably bigger.
