Very good article. The ACC raiding days are coming to collect, they were the worst raiders and in the end their short term plan will be their final undoing.

The only question I have is, will each of the 4 super conferences stop at 16 or dilute their conferences by adding 4 more. Going to 80, (16 to 20 per conference) will add nothing of value to the conferences. One would have to assume that any teams added from here will provide accretive value up to 64. After that, any additions will only be marginal. A majority of those marginal 16 teams are second tier ACC and Big East teams.

I believe we're going to get 4 or 5 "super conferences" and they will break apart and form their own division.

Those 4 or 5 will gain the most in TV contract and national recognition while they fight yearly for their version of the national title. While the smaller schools (like Boise State, ECU, Southern Miss etc) will be on the outside looking in.

I don't see this as a problem because the NCAA has never awarded a D1a National champ

I hope Clemson goes to Big XII because they are going to spend a lot of money traveling their non revenue teams all over the midwest. Plus watching Texas, OSU, OU, and company running the train on them will make it very worthwhile.

The UNC AD (Bubba Cunningham) said Saturday they are going to wait to see the new TV deals the SEC and B1G get before deciding to see if the ACC is clearly at a financial disadvantage. To me, this all buts says the ACC is done, but I understand his not wanting to do anything until they are positive.

If that happens, it could well spell the end of the NCAA, as members of the new 4 "super conferences" could form their own league and oversight organization.

It would create a huge disparity in revenue for smaller schools.

Yeah I've never seen a quote where he actually said that. Last quote I heard on him and the UNC-SEC rumors was when he said UNC was very happy with the ACC.
