We've had this debate on cockytalk before. Yes Tanner is fast, but there is a reason Byrd represented the USA at the World Junior Indoor Nationals. Byrd hands down.

Byrd ran a PR of 6.66 in the 60 meters in January.
Tanner was clocked at 6.37 in the 60 yard dash at a Perfect Game showcase. 60 yards is closer to 55 meters. I don't know how to do the math there. Tanner's time was the fastest in the event.

Byrd would win hands down in a track meet or even cross country. That would not necessarily mean he could do faster base running than English. Tanner knows baseball. Running is the only sport that I can speak about with any authority.
I am really hoping to see Shon run. It would be great to see Shon and Byrd streaking down the football field. Byrd is catching the ball with more sure hands and he knows the routes. I hope to see Shon this fall with the football. |
