50lb picture hanger and you should be good. Do you have a stud to hang from or is it going to be just in the drywall? If no stud to nail to then you may want to have 2 "hanging spots" in the wall and run 2 tiny eye bolts in the back of the mirror and use some wire between the 2 hooks and hang it that way. Also if there is a female involved with this project you need to struggle as much as possible and not make it look easy or you will be doing more then just hanging picture. I get to hang a new light today because I'm so handy.

use a tornado drywall anchor, they are rated for 75lbs and are easy to install. They are available at pretty much all hardware stores. They are the plastic things that look like tornadoes with a phillips screw head. Make a small hole and just screw it in, hang mirror on screw or hanger screwed in to the anchor.

How wide is this mirror? Your studs in your wall should be 16" on center so if your mirror is wider than that I would just get a stud finder and then mount two hangers one on each stud and then run your piano wire to both of them.

Liquid nails. But you can't move it after installing.

Duct tape. It fixes everything.

I tried using a stud finder once, but it just kept going off repeatedly as I held it.

got it hung by several methods, - ended up with a screw in a stud, and 2 toggle bolts- kind of a jerry rig but up, level, secure and a happy wife.
now screwed me up by having a double header yesterday - wanted to see the game and relax this afternoon!

That is just a standard for drywall, the rating of a of a certain drywall fastener gives you weight rating usually for default 1/2" drywall since that is the minimum. The weight is what it will hold based on the tension and shear strength of both the fastener and the drywall based on an item hanging flush to a wall. If the item cantilevers from the wall more than 3" it causes a multiplier for the tension rating, so if you are hanging shelves or shadow boxes see the product specs, also if you have a large 150lb item and think that you can use 2 75lb anchors to hang 150lb item this would be incorrect. Hire a carpenter (doesn't matter what it costs, it's worth it) and make sure you're not home when he gets there. Even if you're in the house, you will be blamed later. Get all of the pictures done at the same time so you won't have to go back again next week and every week thereafter until your wall looks like a dartboard. I've learned a few things over 35 years of marriage.
