![]() Spring practice position battles that could be interesting:
Backup QB - Mitch and Noso 2nd RB - Williams and Wilds WR - I'll just list some guys who need to crack the 2 deep to prove they belong on the team: Brent, Fuller, and Shamier TE - Busta and Adams RG - Rodgers, Park, B Stadnick. DE - too many to list. It will be an interesting battle between Thomas and English if Thomas makes it in. Dixon/Harris/Johnson/Turner DT - Lamin/Griffin/Dixon Jr./Dukes all battle. Surrat starts at 1 spot Spur - Golightly and Bryant CB - Jamari and Groves opposite Rico Some of these are trivial like DT. All 5 will rotate and play. Same at DE. I expect 5 to rotate. Also at CB all 3 will be counted on atleast for depth there. Lammons, Green or Smith may pass 1 or 2 of them in the Fall.

![]() thomas wont get here until summer at the earliest if im not mistaken so it will still be between the guys that have been on the team at the de position. which may have been what you meant that english wont really be challenged for a spot until the newcomers arrive.

![]() Really, we have very intriguing position battles at nearly all positions, except for maybe the OL. The OL seems most solid.

![]() This may be the most depth at running back we have ever had. I am interested to see if we change things up to get our top 3 guys on the field consistently. Can't see us leaving Williams on the shelf this yr. Wilds would be great for goal line situations but Blue could have potential there too. Would hate to see us waste all this talent.

Guess there is a chance C Stadnick or Waldrop could move from C

![]() what about Devin Washington at DE? He was supposed to be a beast coming out of high school last year. I see him on twitter all the time talking about being on campus. Didnt he redshirt last year?

![]() He had a concussion on top of an undiagnosed concussion. That is why he was out, but yes he was red shirted. He has the all clear from what I know.

![]() I'm very interested if Larenz Bryant can get on the field. I was very excited about getting him out of high school. Seems like a very heady player who just needed to add some mass.

I just expect Bryant to make a push. He is too talented to keep off the field if he learns the playbook and puts it all together. He may be the most athletic LB on the team with Moore. I don't think he starts over Golightly but I think he plays a lot

![]() Because Carson was in the mix with Wilds last year, I would add him to the RB battle list:
Williams, Wilds, Carson. The coaching staff like Carson even though a lot of fans are not sold yet. I am hoping Diggs can improve his conditioning this off season and be a factor in the spur positional battle. He is particularly suited for playing against teams like Auburn or Clemson that like to run a hurry-up power game if they can get your defense into an undersized deployment. |

![]() All I know is we need to figure out safety depth. Each time Kadetrix went down or got booted we lost because we couldn't stop the pass anymore. It happened in the UGA and Tenn games. UGA game he got injured early, and in the Tennessee game he got booted on a BS targeting call. We need to make sure someone else can step up in times of need. There are too many burners at WR in the SEC for us to not get good over the top coverage consistently. If we had better safety play we don't lose a single game last season except maybe the SEC title or the BCS title games.

Marcus and Gurley providing depth. Didn't Elder miss the UGA game with a concussion? That's why Marcus was starting then he got booted for targeting..

![]() Has anyone ever been to the Pro day at Williams Brice? Is it worth going to? Do you get to meet any of the players before/after?

![]() Pro day is more for viewing the players and how they manage the work outs. Unless you are in the know, not much meeting players. Just a good time to be out in the fresh air. You probably will see some NFL coaches looking at the workouts.

Elder got a concussion in a game and Marcus started the next one because of it. He then got thrown out for that targeting call and we played moody te rest of the game. Who I thought played well.
