Too many unknowns at this time. If he can play this time next year, then I can see him getting PT to show scouts he's ready and to go out on top.
I don't subscribe to the idea that he needs to never play again...there is no contact in the combines...I believe his draft status will be a product of him coming back and playing...even if it's very limited...which may be the smartest path.
Saving himself for the combines may be counter-productive and everyone will understand if he doesn't play that much. He can't be worried about getting hurt again...he has to show he's back. I also don't think the young man wants all of this to end this way. I think he wants to come back one more time. Just my guess.
If he's not ready by next Nov, then he may not be ready by the combines in Feb '14. Just depends on his rehab schedule.
