Default BCS/SEC Bowl Game Outlook/Predictions

Florida has clinched the East so it's assumed they'll go BCS.
The Alabama/LSU winner this week should go to the SECCG to play Florida.
Florida, Alabama, S. Carolina, LSU and Auburn are the only teams officially bowl eligible right now.
Ole Miss is at 5 wins.
Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Mississippi St and Arkansas are at 4 wins.

I expect 7 wins for Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Georgia.
I see 6 wins for Arkansas and Kentucky.

so I see the bowls for SEC teams to go as follows:

BCS National Championship - Florida vs Texas
Sugar Bowl - Alabama vs Cincinnati
Capital One Bowl - LSU vs Ohio St
Outback Bowl - Georgia vs Wisconsin
Cotton Bowl - Auburn vs Oklahoma St
Chick-Fil-A Bowl - S. Carolina vs Miami (maybe Virginia Tech)
Music City Bowl - Ole Miss vs Clemson
Liberty Bowl - Tennessee vs Houston
Independence Bowl - Arkansas vs Iowa St
Papajohns.com Bowl - Kentucky vs Rutgers

This is a rough sketch, but what do you think?

I've had us in the Chick-fil-A all year...preseason I predicted us against FSU, Bowden vs Spurrier one last time...but anyways, I would love to get the Chick-fil-A bowl and would definately be attending...us against VT would be cool with the beamers

i think Kentucky squeaks in with 6 wins thanks to the Papajohns.com Bowl. they still get to play Eastern Kentucky and Vanderbilt. i dont remember how/if the opponents bowl eligibility rule thing goes into effect for the EKU game, but i think the SEC will let them go to the PJ.com Bowl by the hair of their chinny-chin-chins

i've been debating all year between the Outback and CFA for us. the CFA people really like Carolina and have been following them all year, and will be at the Arkansas, Florida and Clemson games. i think even if we go 8-4 and UGA and Auburn go 7-5, i think we'll get picked behind them.

as for the opponent, with how sketchy the ACC is we could end up in the CFA Bowl playing Miami, VA Tech, Boston College, Wake Forest, Duke, pretty much anyone at this point. haha. it's sad. poor ACC.

The only problem is the ACC....

No one but GT wants to seem to win it. If Clemson wins out they will win their division. Go to the championship game. If they lose to Tech they could end in the Chick-Fil-a and they won't schedule rematches.

.
The rule about bowl eligibility as far as opponents is concerned is that you can only have 1 win against a 1-AA school count toward being bowl eligible. That's why Clemson needed to beat us last year (for their 7th win) to be bowl eligible.

If Kentucky beats Eastern Kentucky and Vanderbilt, they'll be bowl eligible because only 1 of their 6 wins at that point (EKU) was against a 1-AA team. Louisiana-Monroe and Miami (OH) are both 1-A teams because they're in the Sun Belt and MAC, respectively.

So yes, a 6-6 Kentucky team can be bowl eligible when half of its wins came against Miami (OH), Louisiana-Monroe, and Eastern Kentucky. Pretty pathetic.

ok, that's basically what i was thinking and i remembered that Clemson had an issue with that recently, but i couldn't remember the details. thanks!

Arkansas and Clemson. i honestly think we'll get both of those games. my dad seems to think we'll beat Florida. he called it preseason and is sticking by it, so we'll see about that. either way, i see two wins the rest of the year.
