Worst Timing Ever

Belongs to yours truly. The girlfriend and I had been having some issues, and it kinda came to a head last weekend. We have hardly spoke about anything other than minor chit chat going to places and whatnot. No more than a few words a day since Saturday, despite seeing each other daily. I knew what I had to do, but of course, it's always hard.
Well, we had to go into Salt lake tonight, then went had a drink with some friends, and I guess the touch of liquid courage fired me up. After a few barbs being traded, I said that's it, I'm done. Throwing in the towel. Before she can even conjure anything good to say, or any sort of comeback, her phone rings. It's her sister, saying her grandmother has just died. Waterworks ensue. There's no consoling at that point.

You had no control over that. Don't beat yourself up too hard. You can still be a good person and help her through this as a friend.

Yeah, I was trying to do what I could for her, but she wasn't having it. I know it couldn't be helped, really, but damn. Back to back bombshells wasn't pretty.

If you said you were thru after she found out the bad news then yes, that was an a$$hole thing to do. But you couldn't have known the future. Poor timing, yes. Intentionally a prick? Absolutely not. Either way I am sorry you had that occur.
