I guess I will have to start doing slo-mo rage and gently place the controller down. I've only lost one controller this generation but that was due to my dog nawing on the analog sticks and then me trying to replace them and not being able to get the freaking controller back together.

I wish they made them like the old NES controllers. Those things were able to take massive abuse.

I wonder when information will come out about the network and XMB/Dashboard? One of the PS3's big selling points to me was the free-to-play service. It will be interesting to see if they go that route again with the success of XBL memberships.

I personally haven't seen any. I think the other week it said it wasn't available, but I just tried about 3 times and it worked. There really hasn't been any issue since the security breach.

If I were running one of these companies, our controllers would be pretty highly breakable. I might even sell a model you can shatter if you want. I think MSFT makes their controllers easy to break on purpose.

Incorrect. I'm using the controller that came with my 360 (I bought it in December of 2008) dropped it probably 100 times, used it like hell.

It's starting to wear down and I'll buy a new one soon, but these are some durable mofos

Yeah, my Xbox controller hasn't given me any issues at all. My brother's is from the first generation and his is fine too.

Another one of the highlights for me was the ability to start playing while the remainder of the game downloads. I think this will be huge for PS+ especially with the timed trials.

Like others here I would love for them to offer a discounted price on downloaded games. They should be cheaper and at the same time they provide the game companies a way to compete with the used games market and also don't have to waste the 3 cents on the case and disc. But having all of my games on the hard drive would be fantastic without having to switch discs but there is no way I'm going to pay $50 to download a game I can buy on Amazon for $30.

The PS Store has made great strides and looks like it will continue to do so.

I do wish they would continue to reach agreements with more video and music providers.

How did you manage to break 360 controller?

I bought a new PS3 and 360 controller a few months ago. You can tell a distinct difference in quality when you hold both of them. The 360 controller is a brick, but it is built to take abuse. The PS3 controller is super light, and feels a little more fragile. I have both original controllers, and they both work.

Controllers are the least of my concerns this gen. If Microsoft can come through with the things that were leaked a few months ago, it will be very interesting. As for graphics, it will be a wash. The PS3 was supposed to outclass the 360 with graphics, but you could only see that in the Sony exclusive games. The multi platform games generally looked a little better on the 360 because most dev's ported from the 360 to the PS3. Maybe that changes with Sony being first to market, who knows.

I do know that most gamers will be reluctant to buy the 720 right out of the gate because of the RROD bullshit. Microsoft can't take another hit like that.
