They may have names but not billions to outbid ESPN for college football playoffs. The offer is reported at 500 million per year for multiple years reaching 5-6 billion.

Currently, they are at 155 million for BCS and Rose.

Also, for Monday Night Football...ESPN pays 111 million per game -> 1.9 billion per year.

Finally, Disney reported 1.9 billion dollars of profit in the last quarter.

I wasn't saying could/should they.

Just saying I wish they did because I like their lineup.
And they own the rights the Olympics for the next whatever amount of years.

I think they should actually...it's almost an idiot proof way to turn profits for years. However, until someone ponies up some cash then ESPN has and always will have a monopoly. They branded themselves better than any other network and out-buys everyone. That's a winning combo.
