Pinot Evil is a good red wine for about $5 at Total wine or $10 in Grocery stores. Best gal buys it by the case so it must be ok. She does like the more expensive bottles from time to time

Lastcallwines.com
Lastbottlewines.com Wtso.com Cinderellawine.com All are flash sites with deals. Shipping is usually free when you buy a certain amount (normally 4 or 6 bottles). Gotta be careful with shipping. Cannot be too cold or hot so fall and spring shipping is ideal. Also there is a bunch if garbage on these sites so you have to do your research or keep and eye out for stuff you know.

Honestly, Biltmore wine is pretty tasty and reasonably priced as well. Inlaws bought us a couple of three bottles of the Biltmore Century collection this past December. Biltmore puts out some good stuff in my opinion.

Sometimes these 'award-winning' wines are the worst, in my opinion. Maybe I just have a bad taste for good wine, idk. But I do know that the Rex Goliath Cab-Sav got 94 points and a Gold Medal at the 2011 California State Fair - and it's is without a doubt the worst wine I've ever had. I couldn't even finish a glass and I poured the rest of the bottle out.

Wine Advocate, Wine Spectator, Steven Tanzer, and James Suckling are some of the better publications and authors to rely upon. However, even with those mentioned above there are many wine connoisseurs who disagree with their opinions. There are often claims of conflict of interest with what certain writers/tasters rate highly.

Yeah Biltmore makes good stuff. It's also the most visited winery in the country.

You get what you pay for with $2 Chuck. Much better marketers than winemakers. Depending on what cheap is, the following can all be found under $15
Marques De Caceres Rioja Crianza, about $12. Good solid everyday red. Castano Monastrell, about $10 Ravenswood Zin, about $10 Mark West Pinot Noir, about $10 white Chateau St Michelle Riesling, $10 Chateau St Jean Chardonnay, both about $10 Montes Sauvignon Blanc, about $12.

Here is the secret to wine. Find one you like and drink it. Simple as that. Does not matter how many points it has or who thinks it is great or awful. If you like it drink it. Easy

I agree with this. I will also add... Taste lots of different wines from different regions to figure out what you like. Drink at the top of whatyou can afford, there is deffinitely a correlation b/t quality and price. In general - avoid grocery store wine. Your local wine shop has much better juice at similar prices and can make recommendations. Plus you are supporting a local business. If you are going to drink good stuff, make sure to do it in the proper drinking window. Some wine needs time to "get right" (ie - tannins relax, acid gets more balanced, fruit blooms, etc) No reason to pay $20+ and then consume it when it is not at it's peak.
