Hangout Music Festival

Anyone ever been? Going this year, wondering what everyone's thoughts are on it.

I've been to Gulf Shores once and loved it. Always known of this festival but never made it. I use to live it TN so I was much closer, doubt I'll ever go back now I live in SC. Lots of good music though, the lineup is really strong again this year. I'm a long time fan of slightly stoopid, kind of surpised that the flaming lips aren't going to be there again.

I'm older(mid 30's) and have a few kids now, I still love fun and music but it's just harder to travel for something like this these days. I went to a lot of concerts and festivals in my twenties, had some great times. If youre younger, can get away for a bit and have some extra cash I would recommend going :)

Really nice looking lineup this year, but I can't take any leave from my job in May or August. I did, however, get my ticket today for my 8th Bonnaroo in a row.

I'm pretty excited about it. I really want to know who the third headliner is. There have been all kinds of rumors from Paul McCartney to The Black Keys to even a reunion of Outkast haha. Sir Paul would be awesome, but I'm hoping for the Black Keys.

My statement has nothin to do with my college years. I actually was invited to pledge, but chose not to. I was too busy working to pay for tuition, books, rent, food, and othe bills to pay an additional bill to a fraternity.

Floyd, I take it you've been before? How hard is it getting in and out of Gulf Shores every day? We are staying in a house just outside of Gulf Shores since we could get it for free, but wanted to know how much of a pain getting around will be.

I went in 2011. It will be difficult to get around. You'll want to find a place to park and walk. Get in early. 59 is the only way in and out of Gulf Shores. You can come in off of the Foley Beach express but it's a toll road and still puts you a few miles west from where 59 meets Beach Blvd. There are a few blocks (2nd and 3rd Ave.) off of 59 where you can park.. maybe try behind the Hooters or something.

If you like the Beach and Festivals you'll definitely enjoy it. Gulf Shores my home away from home. I used to live there prior to moving to Cincinnati 4 years ago. I'm going down for a week in both June and August this year, and I can't wait.

Thanks for the advice. I've been done to Orange Beach a few times and really enjoyed it, so looking forward to being there for Hangout finally.
