Why would you Doubt? He's clearly been one of the best WRs of this time, he'll be first ballot DEFINITELY. He's 2nd all Time in Yards and TD only to Jerry Rice. and if he plays this year he'll catch another 40-50 balls and be 2nd in receptions.

Just because he was an ego maniac doesn't mean they won't rightfully vote him in. He didn't break laws or get arrested, he just was a cocky arrogant sob. LT had Multiple Drug Violations and Arrests, shit didn't people say he did Coke in between games

Sterling will be in, eventually, but not for a good many more years.

Sterling did not like to talk to the media and that has always hurt those in the voting for the Hall of Fame (Baseball, in particular) as sort of a payback.

As note, Gayle Sayers, got in although his career was cut short, and outside of Jim Brown, was the best RB I ever saw, most electric, at least.
Thing with him was after his injury, he lost most of his lateral movement and still rushed for a thousnd yards when the seasons were much shorter.

Sterling intoduced a new era and style of WR'S into the league and that will be taken into consideration.

just a feeling I have.....i feel like he alienated himself from pretty much everyone

his #s say 1st ballot no doubt....but i dont think he will get the votes to get in, i think some will stick it to him and make him wait 1 time (if that is really "sticking" it to somone)

I'd like to see Sterling work with our receivers in the offseason, and give them some pointers.

Speaking of his brother, does anyone know why we apparently didn't recruit Shannon to play here?

Shannon didn't have the grades to make D1. Sterling told him to suck it up and be a man and go to D2 and play. Shannon wasn't going to go to college. He credits Sterling with saving his life and this is one of the reasons he gave Sterling his first Super Bowl ring

He's been out of the league almost 20 years and never even considered. Do you know what "first ballot" means for HOF voting?

I'm a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.
I'm a lifelong University Of South Carolina Gamecocks fan.

Do I think Sterling Sharpe belongs in the NFL Hall Of Fame?
Only after a LOT of other wide receivers are admitted.

And I mean a LOT.

Packers and Gamecocks Fan? Who cares he never played for those teams.

I'm not talking about Sterling Sharpe here, I was talking about TO.

I think Brat has it right in some years there are no real good candidates for the hall of fame. I think maybe lets say 15 years from now Sterling may be in the hall of fame. This is the 2012 group of player that will be considered some of them are not really world beaters. http://content.usatoday.com/communit...hall-of-fame/1

How many Years are you on the Ballott until you're just taken off and never considered again.

But Foghorn: Of that I'd Pick Martin and Bettis.

Parcells of course would get in as a coach. And How many FBs are there? I think Alstott will get in because of the position he played and how he changed it for the NFL, kind of like what Shannon did in this age for the TE position.

Tim Brown and Carter may get snubbed again, or one will get in.

Voting procedure

To be eligible for the nominating process, a player or coach must have been retired at least five years. Any other contributor such as a team owner or executive can be voted in at any time.[6] Unlike the Baseball Hall of Fame, which explicitly waives its five-year waiting period for players who die during that time or while active,[7] the Pro Football Hall of Fame has no provision to waive its waiting period.
Fans may nominate any player, coach or contributor by simply writing to the Pro Football Hall of Fame via letter or email. The Selection Committee is then polled three times by mail to eventually narrow the list to 25 semifinalists: once in March, one in September, and one in October. In November, the committee then selects 15 finalists by mail balloting.
Nine members of the Selection Committee also serve as a subcommittee known as the Seniors Committee to screen candidates who finished their careers 25 or more years prior.[6] The Seniors Committee then adds two finalists from prior to the modern era, making a final ballot of 17.
The Selection Committee then meets the day before each Super Bowl game to elect a new class. To be elected, a finalist must receive at least 80 percent support from the Board, with at least four, but no more than seven, candidates being elected annually. If less than four candidates get 80 percent of the vote, then the top four vote-getters will get in that year. If more than seven get 80 percent, then only the top seven vote-getters will be inducted. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pro_Football_Hall_of_Fame

What I want to know is if Sterling Sharpe has made any of these 25 Semifinalists.

In 2011 he was not a nominee this is who was. http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/20...-alphabetical/

This is a Facebook page to for fans to help get him on the ballot if you believe he belongs on it. http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=271891105530

I personally think Gamecock fans should get Sterling on the ballot this next year. His brother started that campaign I believe we should pick that ball up and get him nominated in 2012. If you watched the Hall of Fame speeches many people in the audience stood up in regards to Shannon thinking he should be in the hall of fame and it is on Facebook as well.
