Venters going to see Dr James Andrews. Most of the time its a death sentence. But sounds like its for a second opinion. But keep in mind, 2 weeks ago they were saying he was just when that was obvious BS

I wouldnt say Tommy Johns is a death sentence, unless you mean in terms of this year...no surprise there is a price to be paid from earning the nickname "everyday Johnny"

Well I'm just saying that when a pitcher goes to see him, you know what it means. But in terms of him being overused, he was out in spots where we needed him. Think of 2010, take Jesse Chavez and put him where Venters appeared 79 times as someone pointed out today. I can't recall us putting him in a spot where we didn't need him to make a big pitch. Side affect of our offense being so low scoring the last few years.

I can't argue that there was a better decision to be made. poor offense combined with dlowe never making it too deep in games. Just saying 3 years ago when he got the nick name, it was hard not so see this day coming. I wish him the best and a speedy recovery.

Especially last year.

Velo was down from 96-98 to 92-94
His command was awful
Never threw the slider in the zone. Always bouncing it

I'm just hoping we've reached a point where we consistently have better options than Chavez and Lowe, so that we don't have to keep burning the arms off good relievers.
