ideally like coach mcclendon said we get in more 3 wr sets this season with the added depth at that position to stretch the field in the passing game, and get teams in the nickel and run on them.
This is really a good point. The reason we ran so many 2 TE sets last year was because we didn't have the quality depth at WR to run more 3 WR sets. That WR restriction is no longer true.

The easiest thing to do on a football field is catch a pass. It was and still is very troubling to me that we have WR/TE that consistently drop passes. At the D-1 level, dropping passes is mostly a lack of focus. These guys have been catching balls since they were young kids.

Denson is built solid. "Could" be a Great blocking back OR change of pace type runner.

The offense didn't make any defense make decisions last year. The two TE set is useless when one of them can't make a block to save their lives. Add that to the fact that 90% of the offense takes place within 3 yards of the line of scrimmage and your just telling the defense to stack the box. All the depth and play making ability in the world doesn't matter if you're predictable.

Receivers not being able to catch is an issue whether it's spring or not. Edwards really struggled with this last year and nothing kills drives like a wide open receiver dropping a pass which we saw way too often last year.

I like our two TE sets if only bc Crosby at times may be our best match up guy and has hands.

It's about this time of year when I miss hearing Spurrier say none of our QBs could hit the broad side of a barn with a beach ball.

I like our stable of RB; Dowdle, Turner, Williams, Denson, Kinlaw. We should be SOLID at RB in 2017!

You can subtract Williams from that list.

muschamp talked about it earlier and so theres definitely an emphasis on being able to run the ball when teams are expecting it. thats where i think the two tight end set can have the most value if our bigger tight ends prove to be more than capable blockers. i think there was an article where roper said he didnt want to add too much to the playbook but rather make misdirection a bigger element.

So we're getting page 1a of the playbook? Looks like the mythical page 2 will continue to escape us. Curses foiled again.

Aren't you a breath of fresh air?

By alignment, if you have a receiver on the outside who can make plays, a two tight end set is a mismatch for defensive alignments. If you can diagram to me how to double cover an outside WR, AND stack the box like you're talking, then you're in the wrong profession.
