How's that for a first fight!! Now Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone vs Anthony "Showtime" Pettis ( who is a kicking savant!)

Pettis touches Cowboy outta the gate, but gets a knee later by Cerrone. Pettis did a cartwheel kick but doesn't land it. Pettis just folded up the Cowboy with a power kick to the liver! Trust me, folks, nothing more miserable than feeling your guts turn to liquid. Wow!

Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs Glover Texiera up next. Rampage says "sayanora" to the UFC tonight (but Dana White isn't so sure!) as he faces a tough striker with an inch.5 reach advantage.

Glover with an early takedown and now is mounted on Rampage's back. Now a front and again a back mount. Rampage on his feet and avoids a home run punch. Jackson is consistently landing left hooks then takes some kicks. Glover drops page with a left but quinton back to his feet. End of round.

Rampage survives the first, but gets taken down by Texiera. Glover tries to pass by has to work to do so. Now back to their feet and Page with uppercuts, Glover answers with left hooks. Rampage needs to let his hands fly here. Glover with two good body blows! Punches in bunches by both guys to end the second.

Now the last round. Glover with an easy takedown and the crowd boos. Probably not happy with Rampage's piss poor defense of said takedown. Jackson is tired now but still lands some shots but gets put on the ground again. Now Rampage is mounted to end the fight. Probably a unanimous decision for Glover.

Last fight of the night folks!! Being a big guy I always like watching the little guys. Tons of speed and endless energy give some amazing action! Now it's John Dodson vs the UFC Flyweight champion, Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson. Tighten up your seatbelts, ladies and gents. This is gonna be good!

Bruce Buffer with the introductions and now... It is ON!!

Mighty Mouse has more speed but Dodson has the power. Dodson takes a kick and drops MM with a left! Dodson very elusive so far. MM with takedown and that is the first time Dodson has been taken down in the UFC. End of the first round out of five.

New round, and MM pushes the pace to get a second takedown. Back to the feet and more pressure. Dodson knocks MM down! And again! Both left hooks and MM is hurt... Gets his bearings and they continue. MM needs to circle away from Dodson's power hand.

Round 3- Dodson tries a jumping kick but blocked by MM. Dodson takes a knee to the jewels and the ref separates them and Dodson bringing the kicks and knees. Both throwing flurries now and MM landing better now. MM with another takedown and is holding him down, until Dodson gets up. I think the fight is now 2 rounds to 1 (MM 1st and 3rd, JD 2nd).

Next round starts and both guys seem fresh as daisies! Another TD by MM, but he knees JD while his hand was down (can't knee/kick a downed fighter). Ref gives JD time to recoup and we are back to action. MM wearing out JD with knees from front headlock position. Good round for the champ!

Final 5 minutes and JD gets taken down again. The champ seems to be better in the championship rounds. Dodson pinned against fence but MM delivers blows to JD. Finally JD gets a takedown on MM. Back on the feet and the champ is wearing JD out on the fence! He could finish him here but no. Round will end and MM will retain the belt. He really turned it on against JD in the last two rounds.

I love this sport! Was into it when it started in the early 1990's and have continued to follow as it has grown. No one seems to consistently follow it here, though a few did open some threads. I am trying to keep the fight fans on Cockytalk happy and rep the action as well as I can. Thanks for following tonight everyone!

Don't forget that next weekend is the Pay Per View event, UFC 158 which will feature Jose Aldo defending his featherweight title (145 #) against former lightweight (155#) champ Frankie "The Answer" Edgar! Two tough SOB's that will leave it all in the Octagon Saturday night, 2/2/13!!

Its became tradition at my dad's since the days of Tank Abbott lol. I hardly ever miss an event, but i'm usually too glued to the tv to post my own commentary!
