As for Underrated or Forgotten plays. One that immediately comes to mind was
the 1984 game against UGA when Mike Hold came in for Allen Mitchell to run a
series of plays. Mike launched a perfectly placed play action pass to Ira Hillary
that resulted in a 70 yard TD and stuck a dagger in the heart of the Georgia team.
That win propelled the team to their (at that time) best season ever in the history
of the program.

I was at that game and I still say even to this day, and after watching our program
recently exceed that 10 win season, and watching the amazing Defensive squads
we fielded during the 2010-2013 seasons, that that game with UGA in 1984 was
the single best game start to finish I have ever seen the Gamecocks defense play.
It was basically the emergence of the FIRE ANT defense, and what came to be known
for the program as "Black Death". We stopped a very potent UGA offense 3 times
on fourth down, two of those were less that a yard. UGA threw several Slot Screens
against our cornerbacks that day, getting favorable one on one matchups and
time and time again, Greg Philpot, Earl Johnson, Rick Rabune etc... stepped up to
make textbook open field tackles preventing UGA from getting major yardage
from those screens. It was the best overall defense I've ever witnessed for a
single game, not only from the Gamecocks, but any football team in College
Sports.

The Drive in the second half against Miss St when Corey Jenkins took over.

Gilmore TD pass to Alshon against Clemson 2009 and Devonte Holloman pick and return.

Clowney with the late-game strip-sack to preserve the win.

Probably the most exciting baseball game I've ever seen.

The game just before a 13 inning game against UVa was pretty good too

The James Seawright stop on either third or fourth and 1 was one of the best sticks Iíve ever seen. Stopped UGAís RB dead in his tracks and you could hear the clap of the pads all over the stadium.

You could just watch James at the snap and see where the ball was going most of the time. He either was in on just about every tackle in some way.

You remember the "fire ants defense" animated display on the scoreboard? It showed ants coming out of an ant hill.

Now obviously, the game winning play was the Thompson heroics to Ellington just a few seconds before but if Taylor doesn't bat this ball down? Who knows? It's highly unlikely it would have been completed and then for a touchdown but crazier things have happened in football. This was a crazy athletic and hustle play by Taylor, first he completely blows up the tackle and almost gets a sack on Gardner before the QB steps up in the pocket, but off balance and yards behind him at this point Taylor is able to track down Gardner and extend his arm just as he's loading up for a potential game winning, miracle pass.

What are some other underrated or forgotten plays that you feel deserve more appreciation?
If you watch that play, you will notice that the reason Taylor was able to hit the QB was because he had a one on one, and the QB rolled to his way. The reason he had a one on one was because 4 guys tried to block Clowney. Literally, 3 OL went to him, and then the RB went to block him. JD took 4 guys, so Taylor was able to beat his one man.

Eric Norwood totally dominated a game against Kentucky. I think it was a Thursday night when Kentucky was ranked. The play that sticks out was early in the game with Norwood recovering and returning for a TD an Andre Wolfson Woodson fumble.

It seems we have terrible luck when it comes to trick plays, but this one worked so well.

Brandon Bennett lateral to Reggie Richardson to start the second half in 94.
