LOS ANGELES Patty Andrews, the last surviving member of the singing Andrews Sisters trio whose hits such as the rollicking "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B" and the poignant "I Can Dream, Can't I?" captured the home-front spirit of World War II, died Wednesday. She was 94. Andrews died of natural causes at her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Northridge, said family spokesman Alan Eichler in a statement.

It is fascinating how almost every aspect of American life (culture, industry, etc.) in WWII adapted to a war-based society. The film and music of the early '40s is very interesting.

Can't argue with 94...unless you're 93.

America has never been more united than during WWII, not before it or after it. They knew if the Allies lost the war the result would be unspeakable. No sacrifice would be too great to do one's part to win.

Oh this saddens me. I loved the Andrews Sisters. If I was a drinking woman(which I'm not) I would have a rum and coca cola in memory of Patty.... as well as Maxine and Laverne. R.I.P

I remember watching them on TV in the 50's. Everybody knew the Andrews Sisters. There aren't many left from her generation.
