Y'all stop whining about the cold. You prepare for cold just like you prepare for a passing attack or defense. The low in Columbia the week before was about the same as the high was at the bowl game that day. Plus, every weatherman in the country saw it coming several days in advance. Practice at 5:30 a.m. or late in the evening.

Sorry, but all I hear about up here is the Notre Dame and Increasingly Inaptly Named Conference guys saying the only reason the SEC seems so good is that they don't have to play in cold weather. That's all BS (they don't play in 98 degree temperatures in September, anyway). Knowing what you'll be playing in is part of your preparation.

I think the real reason we lost was that we had one important guy that didn't have his heart in it, or had his heart more in the beer and babes than the bowl game. Maybe it was the cold as well, but to me, that's a lame excuse.

Things changed when Spurrier arrived. It is interesting to see how very nervous and doubting our fan can be. All I read last week was we can't beat Clemson because we can't put up numbers. I don't know if gamecocks will ever shed the losers syndrom completely. I thought we would win Saturday. I was around for 0-21. I trusted our defense. This is my first secure season. Let the party continue. This is fun.
