I like that Coach K wants his wife, daughters, sons-in-law and grandchildren to sit as close to the Duke bench as possible. I dislike that Krzyzewski curses like Eminem, loudly enough for fans to hear.

Yeah they did. They looked pretty fresh towards the end of the game. Its amazing that USC pulled that out because there were more negatives than positives with their play last night.

You have got to love the hustle especially from Carerra. Also, don't look now but Chatty is starting to come around some. He is still a long way from a finished product but he is getting better. Dude needs to put a sleeping bag in the weight room this offseason.

Martin really needs to upgrade the guard talent. He is going to put together a good front court with Chatty, Geathers, Carerra, Ringer, and Kacinas but we need a lot of help at the 1-2-3 spots. I think that is the one thing that sticks out the most to me. For starters, we need an upper tier point guard. Not a scoring guard, a point guard. When was the last time we had a guard that could get into the lane at will and either create a shot from himself or for a teammate? Aaron Lucas? I PRAY that Ty Johnson is going to be that kind of guard. Scoring is a nice thing to have at any position but we need a facilitator at point guard and a guy that can break down a defense. I don't think your point guard should be your leading scorer every night, it should be the 2 or 3 guard. If we can get 10 ppg and 6-7 apg from our starting point guard, that would be ideal.

On that note, it just baffles me why Bruce can't get into the paint at will with his speed and quickness. Is it ball handling? I don't get it. There shouldn't be a guy in the conference that can keep up with him. Yet, he spends almost all of his time on the perimeter. I guess this is a product of not being basketball 100% of the time. He just hasn't developed any since he started playing both sports.

you have not watched much Duke basketball then, Coach K is just as hard if not harder on his players than Martin is and actually acts a lot like martin in the huddle...the difference is K puts on the good face mask for the media so you don't ever see it

Frank will get the job done or he will leave, he has too much pride to stick around in a dumpster fire...he just needs to get players in that want to play for him and that have more talent. I could definitley see us in the tourny in 2 years depending on recruiting. Basketball isn't like football it only takes a year or two to turn around a program because a single player can make such a big impact

As for Bruce driving the lane, it seems that when he does nobody reacts and cuts to the basket. Just standing around watching Bruce try to create something out of nothing. Bruce will get to the lane and not have an open shot or clean pass, so he will dribble back out, put up a bad shot, or turn the ball over. Think that happening too often has led him to quit driving as much.

We are 13-13. We could easily have 2-3 more wins now, but if we are really out of the funk that we were in starting with Florida, we should be competitive in all of our remaining regular season games. Not saying we will win them all, but we can have a chance to win any of them, if we play like we did last night. Georgia on the road Saturday. It will be interesting to see what happens.

I'd love to see these guys get better each game from here on out and see what we can do in the SEC Tourney. We really need to win some games between now and then and get a decent seed.

Did I hear correctly during the Georgia game today, he can't dribble with his left hand?

If Bruce had to pick between sports I hope it'd be football. With Ace gone he could become our go to guy. And looking to the next level, although things could change, at this point football looks more promising.

Bruce isn't having a good season(half season, whatever you call it) in basketball. We need him, because we don't have anyone any better. His shot just hasn't arrived and by the time he hits a jumper, the lead deficit is in double digits.

The two sport thing isn't working out in basketball, it just hurts our teams ability to progress. We'll see what happens next year, but at this point, I doubt he'll play another year of basketball. One thing is certain, we would be worse without him this year. That's just how weak the depth is at PG.

I think the comparisons to coach K are interesting. I think coach K's berating of players and coaches is done with a sense of getting a message accross, as if coach K is insisting that he is right and you are wrong. Coach Martin does this too, but comes off a little more bullyish for whatever reason. I'm not sure why this is. K is slightly less physically animated, but I don't think that's it. Martin comes off as a tough guy, and K more like an angry boss.

In the last ten years, we have had one or two players every year that would get minutes on other SEC teams while the rest of the starting five would more likely come off the bench for other teams.

If CFM can get us five good starters in the next two years and good depth in the next three years, I will be happy.

I hope we make the post season next year, make the NCAA big dance in year three and are prepared to make a run at the sweet sixteen in year four or five.

I believe, at this point, the Coach Martin is an upgrade over Coach Horn or Coach Odom because I see the way this team struggles and makes mistakes and wonder how they won 13 games - we do not have the personnel right now to compete in the SEC and I really believe we have done as much as we could this year with the small amount of talent we have on the team.

I agree.
I think Martin has gotten all he can out of the group of guys we have.
And as fans, we may not like it, but that is all we can ask...the coach get the most out of his players.

Guys we did better than last year lol. The guys coming in next year will start from day 1, I know free throws absolutely KILL us! Our ball movement is improving, our guys still don't move around enough it seems like Bruce is the only one doing so. I just don't think these guys really care.
