I live on 5 acres on the edge of some woods, and I see them quite a bit. They can be a bit of a nuisance when you have things growing in the garden. They just love to snack on whatever is in season.

Where I live in Maryland there is a huge deer problem, as there are more deer than people in the county even though the county has over a million people. Because of all the development they are everywhere and cause tons of accidents. The county has started scheduling county-sponsored hunts of them and sterilizing females to help curb the population.

To avoid dear problems it is best to just say, "Yes dear, No dear, Whatever you say dear."

side story - Growing up, a guy that lived down the street had a deer as a pet. It jumped over his fence into his back yard and broke his leg. The guy nursed the deer's leg up and fed it so the deer just stayed around. It could easily jump back over the fence but it never did.

My oldest son lived in Maryland for about two years right after he got out
of the Marines. My wife and I drove up there about three times a year to
visit them, and that stretch along 301 between I 295 and Clinton Maryland
was LOADED with deer along the road. We used to get up there around
8 or 9 at night, and you couldn't drive a mile or two without seeing at
least one standing along the edge of the woods or in the grass along
the road. Sometimes you'd run up on 3, 4 or 5 of them in a group.

The last place I lived in the upstate before moving to Columbia was in
Moonville, near Lakeview golf course. The neighbor behind us had a large
open area in front of his house, and there was a small stretch of woods
between his land and the road that ran over into highway 20.

Pretty much ever morning I could sit at the table and watch a couple
of deer with a fawn walking around in that open area near the edge of
the woods. Not sure if the neighbor was feeding them or not, but it was
nice watching them walk around out there for almost an hour right after
it started getting light.

I live on the other side of DC from Clinton, and just this week I saw a group of 14 deer walking in my residential neighborhood. They routinely jump our back fence and roam around in our backyard. Also have little fear of humans as one once stood five feet from the door of my car staring me in the eye, and only moved when I got out.

My yard backs up to Corps of Engineers property so I see deer every now and then. Sometimes they jump the barbed wire fence into my back yard and hang out, but that doesn't happen too often. I wouldn't mind if they wanted to hang around my backyard.

When my daughter's husband was stationed at Fort Knox, KY they lived in a neighborhood called Doe Valley. Their yard backed up to the neighborhood golf course and deer were there all of the time. People would feed them so they hung out in people's yards and would just be laying around on the side of the neighborhood roads. I thought they were so pretty.

If you have a deer problem I can fix it. You have to wait till September. It helps keep my freezer full and keeps me from buying that crap out of the store.

Go to your local salon and ask for the hair they throw away. Spread it around the areas that you don't want them in and the won't come near it
. The human scent keeps the away

Do like I do, pee in the backyard. Or take a dump, that would work too.
