This was recommended in another forum so I picked it up. Just started it last night...I haven't gotten very far but am excited about getting into it.

That book is on my to-read list, I've heard good things about it as well.

I think I am about to read one of these two. I downloaded samples last night but only got to read the Robertson sample and it was good and seemed like a quick read. I've enjoyed all the other Dan Brown books including the two stand alone novels so I expect it to be good as well.

This was assigned reading for me in 10th grade. It is interesting, and I might need to read it again now that I'm a little older.

I've heard AMAZING things about Guns, Germs, and Steel. I've shown an episode from the documentary and if the book is half of what the doc was (which books are always way better as we know) then it should be great.
I also hope Brown changed the recipe in his new Langdon book. Someone contacts him about something mysterious. He travels half way around the world to investigate. Meets a hot chick. Almost dies. Should have died. Solves crisis. Bangs chick. I hope its something new. |

Read it when it first came out. Definitely a good read, although it gets bogged down a little in places. Overall, I recommend it.

The Stone Barrington series by Stuart Woods are good quick reads if anyone is into the detective cop/playboy type of thing. I need to start mixing in more non-fiction, but I still feel burned out a little from my undergrad/grad history and social studies degrees. Last edited by usc_yogi; 05-15-2013 at 01:41 PM. |

If anyone on here likes good murder mysteries then do yourself a favor and pick up a book in the Travis McGee series by John D. MacDonald! They're easy to spot as they always have a color in the title. Some of my personal favorites are 'Bright Orange for the Shroud', 'The Long Lavender Look', 'One Fearful Yellow Eye'...
All 21 in the series are great reads. They have greenlit the first one for filming by Oliver Stone, 'The Deep Blue Goodbye' and will star Leonardo DiCaprio as Travis McGee. Generally they are about 200-250 pages so they are quick reads.
