Yea, he did a good job. I know people are nervous about these moves (Ray to AD and Chad to HC) but I really think it will work out amazingly for the University.

I am at the stadium right now for my son's baseball camp and there's a lot of excitement here. Pretty cool! When coach Holbrook introduced the camp yesterday he was quite a neat guy. I'm psyched!

Well, I'm feeling better with Tanner at AD.
First he kept Waddell and O'Connell in the department (that move will prove huge) and now made the no-brainer hire of Holbrook.

I loved Ray Tanner's multiple quotes about Holbrook working at "UNC then coming join the staff here at Carolina." Seeing him do that without batting an eye already puts him a little bit above Hyman. I never once saw Hyman refer to us as Carolina. Its not a big deal, but its just one of the little things that someone committed to the USC community would do.

Holbrook had a nice speech too.

What I find awesome, is Coach Holbrook's determination to REMAIN head of recruiting!
Chad was ALREADY known as a great recruiter....... now you have the HEAD COACH recruiting you to come to the Premiere Baseball team in the Country!!! I believe that extra clout will only pay dividends!!!

Funny though, he is not sure about coaching 3rd base! LOL

I believe Tanner and Holbrook WILL do some on the job training..... and may see a hiccup or two in the short term....... but long term, both are what I consider to be no brainier hires..... and I believe both will be successful at Carolina!

Hard to follow a Legend like Ray Tanner....... but I know Coach Holbrook will not settle for anything less than Ray Tanner did........

Seems to me, Ray Tanner will still offer Coach Holbrook much input..... but ONLY if asked....... which Chad says he will be burning up the phone line to the AD! LOL

Yes to both, Holbrook is in the $500-525K base salary for 5 years and Ray is around $ 700K per year

True statement. My dad is a huge Gamecock Club Member and he said that the amount of money Tanner is going to raise will dwarf what Hyman did.

Listening to that press conference had me choking up almost as much as Chad did. His appreciation for this opportunity and his admiration for South Carolina and Coach Tanner were so obvious. He nearly broke down numerous times as if all of the emotions within him were bubbling out.

There is no wonder why he's such a strong recruiter. Who the hell would not want to play for him and this baseball program when he exhibits the kind of love that he put on display at that presser.

We're in great hands with Tanner at AD and Holbrook coaching the baseball program.

This IS a great time to be a Gamecock.

My exact thoughts. This is more than just a job for him. This is the opportunity of a lifetime that he has waited for. He isn't taking it for granted and his emotions showed that. I have even more respect for Coach Holbrook after watching his press conference.
