Gruden makes just a much as a College Coach talking for a total of 7 hours a week. No way he lowers his standers for the a college job.

Also if you understand business you know that Gruden will pay for himself 10X over in the first 2 years he is coach. Tickets sale, merchandise, consession sales ect will sky rocket with him as coach.

So you have boosters that are going to pay his salary directly? Because the UT budget, based on debt ratio, is the worst in the SEC right now. They have the least amount of cash on hand.

In a short answer, yes our boosters will donate enough money to at least pay his first year and assistants first year salaries.

After that it won't be a problem as our financials will look much better a year into Gruden's coaching career as it does now.

Chargers are apparently going to go after Gruden after their terrible year and Gruden and their GM are best friends. If Fisher got 7 mil a year with the Rams with no super bowl, Gruden will get around there. There is no way it's the same money as UT can offer, UT cannot pay him remotely close to that. I doubt he wants to deal with the year long process of recruiting. The chargers are decent and not a project like UT. Plus the season has about 6 weeks left before Turner is fired and Gruden is forced a decision . I don't know if the Vols can wait that long in order to save this year's recruiting class.

Agree, but I think the Chargers job with the talent that they have in place would be hard to pass up. The one thing he had at Oakland that he didn't have in Tampa is a top tier QB which he will have with Phillip Rivers. I do agree that control of a NFL team will be the difference maker. If the Chargers give him more control on players I see him going there, if not who knows. I do know that he's got a real good gig with MNF and has passed up coaching oportunities every year.
