Because of injuries there is a chance Moore might not play this season the same goes for English and possiblely Blackshear.

id expect lammons to stay at safety especially if we bring aboard another cornerback not currently signed. the traditional box safety has been virtually eliminated in the nfl and college football is heading the same way. alabama started 2 converted corners last year at safety who were both sub 200 pounds.

obviously theyre going to need to tackle, but the enforcer as much as it pains me is becoming a thing of the past. id be very surprised if both starters came from the elder/diggs/moody group. elder has some corner experience, and diggs has spur experience, but versatilty in coverage is going to be key.

I am very interested to see what happens with the Safeties - Boom is not going to let the position he coaches be a weak spot. Snoop talked to Skai at the Spring game and he said he was a Safety all the way. If Diggs is there also, plus Elder, Moody and DJ Smith, Lammons might stay put (Fenton was also tried at Safety, but that might be needed cross training since he is the starting Nickle). We would need Cornerbacks more than Safety, so no need to move people over.

But if we add Jackson to King, plus have Rico Mc and Fenton, then we could move Lammons to Safety.

Boom likes his Front Seven, especially his LBs. Once some guys get healthy, watch out. Better weight training, better technique coaching, better schemes, and we have a veteran and much more talented group than people realize. There is a reason that Boom says he is not rebuilding and is trying to get to ATL. Top 25 Defense, here we come.

I don't think we really saw a game where the defense was the reason we've won in the past 2 years.... We certainly haven't seen a defense that could slow down or stop a decent offense in the past 2 years, the only teams the defense had any success with were teams with known not good offenses.
I agree with you on most of what you said, so don't take this as me bashing what you said.

Last year against UNC, our defense won us the game. (particularly Skai moore) We gave up some yards, but UNC had a very stout offense last year and we allowed only 13 points.

That was more or less Marquise Williams making bad throws in the redzone. He threw what? 3 picks in the redzone? Two of which Skai Moore picked off in the endzone, if my memory serves me correctly. UNC moved the ball fairly easy.

Bad throws but we made the plays - got in position and made the catch. That might have been the one game where we had good defensive coaching - we had all offseason to prepare.

So, whether they gave it to us or we took it - they still only got 13 points.

So Deke takes the blame for 4 years of subpar recruiting on the DL prior to him coming, now he's being blamed for putting Blackshear in?

Deke had nothing to do with putting Blackshear in. And if he qualifies for a medical exemption sometimes it takes close to a year to be approved.

No, but deke is responsible for slaughtering the talent we had on the d-line. Look at clowney his last season.

Effort? I'm saying nope. Maybe Muschamp will make statements with players who are second and third string and have an awful attitude, but I hope he's not giving extra credit to key positions for trying hard.

I don't care, and I'm betting most coaches wouldn't either, if Mitch tried half as hard as Brandon but performed better.

This, to me, speaks volumes on how the quarterbacks have been developed here over the years. As in, not at all. Show of hands--a decade after Spurrier and the next head coach has to pick between a walk-on and a true freshman, who had that one pegged?
