At linebacker, we lose Skai More (ouch!) We do, however have some real speed in Bowen and, I think, Staley. Getting BAW back is a big plus and I expect him at LB and only occasionaly at buck. I think Fennell will be the number 1 backup at buck (to Wonnum), and B Johnson may move to a linebacker spot. With Kier Thomas, Sterling, maybe Blacksheer, and both Wonnum and Fennell we should have a really good "rabbits" set.

Hasn't SWM been quoted as saying he has been impressed with Urich?

C2, don't think that Shane Hynes will start over Parker White?

I'm pulling for White to get it together, but we did bring in a grad transfer.

Nope because Parker is only a Freshman and has tremendous upside.

He also said that he had complete confidence in Scarnecchia. It's all coach speak. I'm just going by his history of leaning on veteran players.

I agree. Last night's game shows that a running quarterback isn't going to win big games. Joyner needs to spend all of next season working on his passing.

Offensive line is interesting because this is the first year I can remember in a while that even with injuries, they pulled it together. Seems odd to actually expect progression there finally with added depth--still probably a few seasons away from having a solid two deep, though.

We lost a lot in the defensive backfield. I think Lammons was completely underrated for all that he did here.

Urich is 2nd team QB. I hate to say it, but Scar would have gotten some PT before now if he had a future, so we might as well give Urich some PT. Plus he brings some running ability to the mix - Scar is a less talented Bentley.

I think Young is back at Guard to give us a 3rd experienced guy there and allow a youngster to get some experience at Tackle.

Farrell will be either the starting or back-up Center. I think he will compete with Douglas for the job. Manos will RS and might play Guard instead of Center as a RS Freshman.

We are just beginning to build depth with quality players which is fun. The overall athleticism and speed is increasing as well which we have severely lacked the last 2-3 seasons.
Don't forget Ellis, too.

I could have sworn Scar was going to go the Grad Trans route for his final year??

I think the others will need a redshirt including Dylan Wonnum if we sign him.

THAT DEFENSE LOOKS STACKED THOUGH.

QB - Bentley / Scarnecchia
RB - Dowdle / T. Williams or Turner
TE - August / Crosby
WR - Edwards / O. Smith
WR - S. Smith / Vann
WR - Samuel / Davis
LT - Daley / Young
LG - Stanley / (I have no idea)
C - Manos / Douglas
RG - Hutcherson / (I have no idea)
RT - Bailey / Camper

DE - Thomas / Sterling
DT - Kinlaw / Ellis
DT - K. Smith / Webb
BUCK - Wonnum / B. Johnson
MIKE - Brunson / Louis
WILL - BAW / E. Thompson
CB - Fenton / Jackson
FS - Dickerson / Mukuamu
SS - Montac / Charleston
CB - Nixon / Horn
NICK - J. Williams / B. Thompson

SAM - Greene / Fennell

PK - White
P - Charlton

PR - J. Williams
KR - Samuel
I don’t see Sandidge’s name on here. He’ll get plenty of snaps next year.

The only place next year we won’t have proven depth is OL.

Fennell also looked like the extra bowl practice helped him. He got the facemask penalty but that was a nice bull rush. He did not get a sack, but was disruptive in the passing game. And just keep hoping this is the year the lightbulb comes on for Blackshear.

Fennell, Brad Johnson and Aaron Sterling all showed potential this year - I think the pass rush is in good hands, especially with BAW coming back and Wonnum continuing to impress.

I am curious about Thompson and Webb. Since we are playing a lot of 3-4, we will need a big Tackle and DEs that are more like strongside DEs/off tackles. Kier Thomas and Kinlaw can play DE, plus Ellis and Enagbare in the incoming class. But we need to see where Thompson and Webb show up in terms of weight - right now, Kobe Smith is the guy replacing Stallworth, but he will need reinforcements.

On the subject of 2018...

There aren't a whole lot of great matchups in Week 2. GA @ SC could be in line for Gameday.

The only other better matchup might be SoCal @ Stanford.

Other notable games:
UCLA @ OK
Clemson @ TxAM
Kentucky @ Florida

Think that was the play Muschamp got pissed about because Fennell was being held bad by the lineman

I understand that, but he has also shown a willingness to play the younger guys. I think Urich "fits" more in the fact he is mobile.

I see nothing "veteran" about Scarnecchia other than carrying a clip board. Might be a head coach in training.

Keep you eyes on this guy ---> MJ Webb. He red-shirted last year and have only heard good and upside things about him. Looking for him to be a big plus next year.

My bet is that they go to Clemson at A&M since it has the Dabo vs Fisher storyline.
