Cover up at Notre Dame?

I put this in the water cooler because it deals with more than football. Either I totally missed this story, or it has been swept under the rug by the Notre Dame powers. With the cover ups that the catholic church is accused of, you would think that Notre Dame would do all it could to get to the bottom of this.

I believe in innocent until proven guilty. Could these things have happened? Absolutely, but until there's proof of it. I'm not holding judgement.

They keep talking about all these text messages threathening the girl. If there was THAT much evidence she could have went to other resorces with it.

But if there is a culture to where football players are sending threatening text messages in order to intimidate someone to not press charges, then how will that proof ever come out?

Tough to get to the 'until proven guilty' if the victim is intimidated into shutting up.

Absolutely....when a woman is raped, their first feeling is humiliation as well as guilt and coming forward is hard enough without being intimidated. College athletics tends to clouds people's judgement and there is a lot to lose for a university if this happens...especially a school like notre dame. I have no doubt this goes on at a lot of universities, not just notre dame. It is sickening if true, but for some reason this will go unnoticed as people will turn a blind eye.

The smear about Seeberg was that she was "a troubled girl" who had "done this before" (according to friends and family members of a "long-serving trustee" at Notre Dame). She was "the aggressor" (according to the accused player's lawyer, a Notre Dame alum). She was "all over the boy" (according to a "top university official" at Notre Dame). After reporting the alleged assault to campus police, Seeberg was told by a friend of the football player: "Don't do anything you would regret. Messing with Notre Dame football is a bad idea." and winning hasnt really swept this thing under the rug. it and similar crimes were swept under the rug long before this season. even the criminal negligence in letting that film student get on top of a lift in windy conditions which led to it tipping over and his death is forgotten.

I'm a single 24 year old father, my daughter just turned 4 nov 24 (hehehe...that's right clemson, 4) and she is the world to me, I have full custody and she's with me all the time. If my daughter was to ever be harmed by anyone, even one of our beloved players, it would be the end of them and you'd see me everywhere making sure everyone knew. Sadly, this stuff does happen and it is disgusting. I just don't see how this can go untried, a life was ended and there IS evidence that there was foul play involved. It is very hard to acquire actual text messages, so if they are there it needs to be looked into. Very sad, prayers go out to the families and people involved.
