I'm not attacking Martin yet bc I believe he can turn around our program but I didn't like the way he publicly ridiculed his players.

Well, Martin can only do so much he can't play for them. He has to find a way to get them to play hard the entire game, and play smarter too. Don't forget, Martin doesn't really care about wins and losses, Martin cares about executing. He is upset because they are doing and EXTREMELY poor job of executing what they have been practicing and then the effort isn't there a lot of the time. He's upset about that too.

These guys are lucky, if they played for me I most likely would leave them at home and go play with the few that do what they are asked to do! If you can't have pride and fight in yourself to work to be better you should go play for an everyone gets a trophy coach. The everyone should get a trophy thought process is ruining our country.

I work at the CLA, and I think whatever assessment Coach Martin gave is spot on.....The best game they played all year, in my opinion, was the Arkansas game (75-54 W) and that showed to me that this team can play with fire an passion. I stood there on the baseline while Coach Martin shoveled all the blame on himself, and other times, either looked as mad as a wet setting hen, or looked dejected at our players performance. I have seen them stand around, and simply toss the ball around the three point line, getting no penetration to the basket at all......We can shoot the 3-point shot, but even that as the season has worn on has gone away. I didn't expect a miracle from Coach Martin, and I fully expect next year to be an improvement over this year, but the man deserves better effort from all the players except Bruce E. and Mike Carrera. Outside of them, we would like be the SEC equivalent of Old Dominion, double digit loses, single digit wins.

are the players just worn down in general? That would be my question. They are the underdogs on most nights and it is just hard to keep getting up off the mat after a time.

FWIW, I think Coach Martin is calling it as it is and will let the players know where they stand. They can be tired and they can lose but they will go down fighting every night. That is what he is demanding of them.
