Jacksonville Gamecock Bar?
I am moving to Jax, Florida and I was wondering if anyone else lives down there and if there is like a Gamecock bar people go to to watch games and such?

I have heard that Sneakers on Baymeadows at Southside has some. You may be able to call the Gamecock club to get numbers of the folks at the Jax GC club.

I live in Jax and the Gamecock Club here DOES NOTHING ever. I have emailed the director for here several time trying to find out if there are any places the the Jax GC gets together to watch games or any other gatherings that might take place and I either get no response or they don't plan anything. I have been here 5 years and they have only had one gathering for the NCSt game 2 years ago. I would like to start something though if I could find other Gamecock fans that are interested.

I think we should at least find a place to go that everyone begins to realize it is the "game cock bar" on game days.

If you go to any of the larger sports bars like Sneakers at the Beach or the one on Baymedows then you will always find a couple of other Gamecock fans there. Another good place is the Wild Wings on SouthSide or the Ale House on Beach Blvd. I go up to all the home football games but would like to get together for all the away games.

Yeah, the Jax GC club doesn't do much. They used to have Brad Scott come back when he was coach, and they held an event when USC plays UF down here. I don't even know if they did that this past year.

I was in Jacksonville over the weekend visiting my sister-in-law, brother-in-law by marriage. We ate lunch at a place that I can not remember. ( we had sliders off the appetizers) Anyway, we had on our gamecock jerseys and a guy in a gamecock hat walked up to our table.
He introduced himself and said that there are a lot of gamecock alumni watching the game at Wild Wing Cafe. He said they get together and watch all the gamecock games there. He invited us, but we had already made other plans. I asked him if he visited Cocky talk and he said no, so I told him about it. Anyway, check out Wild Wing next weekend. We went down to sneakers on the beach earlier in the day and draft beer was seven dollars a draft. Sneakers is pricey on the beach. |

I'm probably gonna try Wild Wings this weekend and hope they have the SC v Citadel game on. I don't want to have to pay the $40 to watch the game at home.
