Naturally. Just look at the recruiting rankings the last several years...pretty much the same as before.

I laugh when others say, "We just don't have the talent." Poor coaching will take just a bit to cure. But I agree Kingston is the man for the job.

Curious to see where this talent is. The said something Thursday that blew my mind the bullpen only has one left hander in it. Thats un-real and terrible all at the same time.

Do not pay attention to him. He is not a Carolina fan and does not know much about baseball. He is just here to stir up crap.

I think our top five guys when all are healthy (Campbell, Tolbert, Hopkins, Stokes, and Bride) are pretty decent talent. Cortez and Olsen are highly rated mysteries. The rest of them are just plain not SEC caliber players. I though Cullen showed a lot of potential at catcher but got beat out by Hunter Taylor. Our pitching is young and shows potential but the jury is still out on a very young pitching coach. If we could keep this team together and get a couple of really good Jr. College transfers, we could have a good team NEXT year.

I agree about the talent. Either way, all but Campbell will be gone next season. Cullen is a junior, so his struggles will probably mean he will be back next season. His size makes him an ideal firstbaseman if he can get comfortable with the position. I do not like him at catcher. His size makes it difficult for him to frame pitches properly and throw out runners. just to much movement behind the plate.
As for the pitching coach, I have liked the way he has handled the staff this season. He is kind of handicapped with matchups because the previous staff left him with only one left hander and he arrived after fall ball, so he was not able to work fully with his staff until a few weeks before the season started. Just think if Gilreath had decided to stay in high school this year! A staff with no lefties!

Our fans have a habit of touting recruiting rankings when we're winning, and then say they don't mean anything when we're losing. Can't have it both ways.

This is pretty accurate. I also think we would've won 3-4 more games had we been completely healthy this year. But it's hard to win without Stokes, Hopkins, and Campbell who are all proven talented players.

I will have to say im slightly grateful to Holbrook cause he chased off a couple of guys (guys that could have contributed this season) that are currently on the verge of playing in the NCAA regionals with a chance to play for a national championship at my Alma Mater.
