Besides Clemson which In-state school is your least favorite and why?

as a coastal (undergrad) and USC (Masters) im pretty sickened by half of this. Some people need to get over the hole super regional mess because it wasnt the schools doing with the ticket mess it was the MB Pelicans organization who released the tickets. Not to mention USC had just as many fans there anyway. I dont think people realize how fast those tickets went.

my second most hated school would be Ohio State but for instate school it would be Winthrop. because its a Clemson sister school. they have matching towers that face each other. and im a Coastal fan and its sort of a rivalry

But im garnet and black till the day i die its in my blood been there since birth. and i was pulling for em in the super regionals.

That pretty much sums it up for me too. I agree with you on all three: Pelicans screwed the pooch. OSU is the mosted hated and Winthrop can suck it. Three years at CCU came home and finished at USC

CCURED: thank you because up until now i never really realized how pissed off USC fans were about that. i can only assume its because the didnt get in to the games. i got my tickets to it through my alum assocation at coastal plus i lived there at the time and bought them right after they beat c of c. there were a ton of myrtle beach locals that were carolina fans there. almost no one was scalping those tickets because everyone wanted to be there.

I talked to coach Tanner a few months back at a benifit in charleston and he said that Coastal was by far the hardest team he had played against in the last few years.

it shocks me to see so many fans bitter about coastal. i know the coastal AD has tried to schedule games against USC but they wont.

I pull for every in-state school except for Clemson. Not understanding the hate for Coastal Carolina. I know they talked a little smack when it came to baseball last year, but who dont when they are supporting their team? I like Coastal.

Any school that takes our mascot and changes the name to its French translation and switches the colors to "teal and bronze"just screams, well to borrow another French word, douche. To add to the insult, some recent media pundits have started saying they like this school because of how "original" their mascot is. WTF?

Coastal gets my vote hands down. They want to branch off from us but steal our mascot and then their fans act like their school is as good as ours? F*** Myrtle Beach Tech.

Wofford, they are our rival. That school has dodged playing Upstate in basketball since the move to D-I. Even though they beat us this year it was done in the Charleston Classic Tourney. However I owned them during my track career.

Coastal didn't steal our mascot when they broke off. They were the chanticleers before that. They were the trojans before becoming satellite campus of USC. There was a push to try to come in line with the parent school "the gamecock". The decision was made because of what the chanticleer represents in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. It linked Coastal to USC and still kept individuality. Then when they broke off they didn't want to lose their tradition. And yes it is original how many other schools are the chanticleers and how many are the gamecocks?

Any SEC school ranks above any of these, also throw in most of the ACC old rivals too. Not a lot of dislike left for the other in-state schools.

When I went to school there it was crawling with Jersey people and Ohioians. But most of the people from Jersey guys were cool.Lots of surfers that came down because the water is so cold up there. This was definitely before the Jersey Shore though. On a different note something we can agree on. Go Sox. Proud member of Red Sox Nation right here.

This is a little bit different question and I wonder if anyone has this same perception as me. Am I wrong in thinking that most of these smaller schools have something against USC but kind of have a friendlier relationship with Clemson?

I am often amazed and amused at the very low level of intelligence of the posters on this site.....they blurt and vomit words on their keyboards without even a eye-blink of thought....possibly because the vast majority of "fans" on this board have never attended a class at USC.......probably never attended a class of college, for that matter. Probably couldn't, if they were given the opportunity.....

The University of South Carolina has BY FAR a larger contingency of student body from northern states and NJ, NY, etc., AS WELL AS a much larger percentage of the total student body, than Coastal Carolina. Our own coaching staffs for football and basketball are making a concerted effort to bring in more prospects from NJ and PA, among others. Our most glorified period of men's basketball was fed by an influx of talent from NJ and NY, led by our NY-born head coach.

Are these all the "guidos" and "yankees" we're textually spitting at in this thread???
