Default Spider Identification?

I think this is the second spider of this type I have killed in our house since we moved to Florida. I wasn't able to take a picture of the first one, as he was pretty much squashed to smithereens .05 seconds after I saw it.

We have already have two confirmed kills on brown widows and their spikey egg sacs. This is different, much larger in size but without the big pouch that a widow has:

*If you don't like seeing spiders at a high resolution, stop reading!*

WTF IS IT?

Yeah I see a lot of those at night. Pretty sure they are nocturnal. They are actually pretty cool spiders, if a spider can be cool.

OK...let's just clear this up right now...the only "cool" spider is a dead spider. Glad we got that out of the way.

Try pulling back the shower curtain and having one of these looking up at you from the tub. NOT COOL AT ALL!

Or looking down after you ring the doorbell at your parent's house and seeing a brown recluse right next to your foot.

Oh, ew, we had wolf spiders at our old house occasionally. Huge, hairy and aggressive! Once we had one on a white curtain, and my husband trapped it under a glass bowl. It then held onto the curtain and refused to let go. My husband slid a fork under the bowl to nudge it off, and the thing GRABBED THE TINES OF THE FORK. *shudder*

I do not miss seeing those.

Honestly, I'd rather have the bugs. Much less creepy and less likely to rappel off my ceiling and onto my nose in the dead of the night.
