Is it just me, or is it damn near impossible to complete drags and slants with a scrambling QB?
I've had at least 20x in the last three games where I'm standing in the pocket and throw the ball to a wide open guy doing a drag across the middle only to watch the ball be magically overthrown (when I wasn't leading the ball in any direction). Same thing with slants where I let the route progress to the opposite side of the field; I lob it, and the QB throws it 30 yards in front of the receiver. Hell, even when the WRs are close enough to make a catch, they're not putting their arms out to catch the ball. I even set the sliders to 100% QB accuracy & 100% catching. Still the same results! I'm not running while throwing, I'm not leading the passes, and I'm not even throwing off my back foot, yet the game doesn't want to let me complete passes to wide open receivers. Also, what is up with OL running out in front of the running backs to block someone 20 yards away that the HB could have otherwise just simply outran? WTF?! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() <insert "EA Sports sucks ***********" comment here> /rant

This happens to me a lot with drag routes. I usually just whizz one off of my guy's helmet. I really can't even use the play out of 5 wide anymore. You can't hit the slant early, you have to wait until it's almost a post.

Early part of the slant usually isn't a problem for me, and if they start going for that, I just hot route to outside slants.
Very annoying that the receivers don't reach for the ball. Especially when EA highlighted that this year's game would feature animations where receivers even go so far as to lay out for the ball. So far the only time I've seen that, it's been very exaggerated (i.e. the receiver could've made the catch by running all the way through).

Two solutions:
1. Turn up Quarterback Accuracy in the game sliders menu. 2. Buy Madden. 3. Play with an accurate quarterback. 4. ???? 5. Profit. |

drags in ncaa 12 you need to throw it behind the receiver. in essence that doesnt really make sense but thats the only way that consistently worked for me. if i lead the receiver its most likely overthrown. if i just throw a regular pass it may go over his head, behind him, or he wont attempt to catch it. throwing behind him even on a short pass somehow gets the receiver to focus. it doesnt necessarily kill your momentum either which you would expect.
just one of those weird things with the game. |
