Spring Game is a no go ... mostly because I doubt I'll be able to go. I have an obligation that has been on that weekend the past 3 years


Prize money is going to be the entry fee money. I'm also going to see if I can't get a few people to "sponsor" it or throw in some gift cards

Like I said, this is just a for fun get together and cook good food time ... if we can get enough people to show up

I bought my Father a digital smoker from lowes..... it makes the best rips i have ever had. just takes about 4 hours to cook them

I would like to but not sure I can get the big green egg there. Probably not worth risking damage to it. Cooked dry rub only ribs Friday night for a small group of neighbours and they loved them. Ate them all and only a couple people chose to use the sauce.

Sounds like my kinda competition. Did a Brisket and a Pork Shoulder last weekend. Both turned out awesome.

I have bad news. The rib competition is going to have to be delayed. We have a few projects at the house going on right now, and last night my grill decided to completely stop working. One half doesn't get gas anymore, and the other side is nearly completely rusted out. My smoker has nearly rusted out over the last few months from a fire burning off the paint (you'd think it'd be fire resistant huh).

I highly doubt I'll be able to justify purchasing both right now, and learn my new smoker in time.

I will definitely see what we can do for maybe a cook off towards later in summer/early football season. This isn't over ... it's just paused for a few.
